Behold! The King of Kings

This Advent season I have reflected on the birth of our Savior and His eventual return and I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of it. It's hard to get my mind around it.

He was glorified in heaven:
"Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory"
-Isaiah 6:3

His coming was predicted:
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:
The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son,
and will call him Immanuel, which means God with us.
-Isaiah 7:14

His coming was anticipated:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
-Isaiah 9:6

But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over
the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
-Luke 1:30

He came to us in humility:
She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them at the inn.
-Luke 2:7

His coming was celebrated:
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house,
they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.
-Matthew 2:10

His return is anticipated:
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!"

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
-Revelation 5:11-13

All praise and glory be to our King of Kings!
Merry Christmas
